National Calendar 2024 launched in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Library of Moldova (BNRM) today launched the National Calendar 2024, within the string of events occasioned by the marking of the National Culture Day.   

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the BNRM deputy director, coordinator of the volume Veronica Bors said that the work, National Calendar, had an encyclopedic character, comprising a string of reference names in the fields of science, culture and art, representative personalities from Moldova and the entire Romanian space (especially from the Country of Moldavia and the Greater Romania), as well as from the universal culture and civilization.    

In those 355 pages, the work comprises the description of over 1,000 memorable data, distributed according to months; it presents information on more than 600 national and international anniversary, commemorative, professional events and holidays due to be celebrated in 2024.

Attending the event, academician Andrei Esanu said that this work tried to present the country’s entire century-old culture and civilization through its great personalities, through great events which took place during centuries and who, in one way or another, will mark nice anniversaries in this 2024 year. For his part, writer Vitalie Ciobanu said the National Calendar was a quite precious source of information, an encyclopedia of the year. MP Vasile Soimaru noted that the Calendar was a quite complex work, which contains information about diverse personalities of Moldova and from abroad.
