Be PRO! Choose to be a teacher! - authorities' appeal to students graduating from high school this year

Chisinau, April 29 /MOLDPRES/- Be PRO! Choose to be a teacher! - this is the appeal by President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Education Minister Dan Perciun to young people of the 12th grade who attended an event organized within the Education Week, the presidential press service has reported.

"The government has as a strategic objective to improve education in Moldova and the first steps have already been taken: teachers' salaries have been increased by 15%, a 200,000 lei - allowance for graduates who choose a teaching career, the creation of a network of 35 model schools, good, modern schools in each district, the doubling of scholarships to pedagogical faculties and many other concrete actions. This week was Education Week with many events aimed at highlighting education," the head of state said.

The President thanked all those who choose to be teachers and raise generations of responsible, independent young people capable of building European Moldova.
