Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s integration into the European Union does not pose any risk to our lands. ‘’The lands of the Moldovans will remain of the Moldovans.’’ President Maia Sandu has made statements to this effect, in the context of the information which appeared in public space on the sale of farmlands.
The head of state gave assurances that, in the process of accession to the European Union, the authorities supported the negotiations based on the citizens’ interest.
„I saw a new scarecrow about our lands. I want to make quite clear: Moldova’s integration into EU poses no risk to our lands. The lands of the Moldovans will remain of the Moldovans. This is how other states negotiated too; the ones which wanted this when joining EU and this is how we will do as well. We always negotiate proceeding from the supreme interest of the citizens. You know – the private property, the title on land are holy in the European Union. They are protected; nobody comes to confiscate your property or the land, nobody comes to force you sell it,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The head of state urged the citizens to be attentive to the misinformation actions. She highlighted that ‘’it is important that the lies do not determine the fate of Moldova.’’
„We have our experience or of our grandparents, when the others came to us and confiscated our lands; we remember this. Where we want to go, the assets and the work of the people are respected and protected. Namely therefore, we must make sure that the people take decisions based on the truth, not based on lies. We do not want the lies to determine the fate of Moldova,’’ Maia Sandu said.
On the last period, the authorities warned the citizens about the promotion and spread of more fake news in the online environment. It regarded the energy sector, security and defence, social protection field and the one of education.
