Livestock farmers can apply for business development grants as of 26 December

Chisinau, Dec. 17 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) announces the launch of the third call for grants of the Agriculture Governance, Growth and Resilience Investment project (AGGRI), aimed at farms specialized in raising cattle, sheep and goats for dairy, meat and mixed activities. The application period will begin on December 26, 2024 and end on April 4, 2025.

The maximum amount of a grant can reach $1 million, provided that the amount does not exceed 50% of the eligible investment.

"The funds are intended to support investments in the development and modernization of the livestock sector. Thus, the money can be used for the construction and modernization of livestock holdings, their equipping with high-performance technological machinery and equipment, as well as for the development of milk and meat processing infrastructure. Also eligible are investments in the necessary technological infrastructure, including energy and water supply systems," the Ministry of Agriculture says.

The AGGRI project was launched in December 2023. Around 55 million dollars will be invested in the development of Moldova's agricultural sector until 2029. During this period, $21 million is expected to be provided to farmers as grants to boost initiatives to promote and develop the livestock sector.
