Metropolitan See of Bessarabia, Embassy of Romania deliver donation of books to Penitentiary 9-Pruncul from Chisinau

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Metropolitan See of Bessarabia and the Embassy of Romania have delivered, on the eve of the winter holidays, a donation of spiritual books and Romanian literature to the Penitentiary No 9 – Pruncul from Chisinau.
Thus, with the blessing of the Most Right Reverend Peter, Archbishop of Chisinau, Metropolitan of Bessarabia, more volumes of Romanian spirituality and literature were made available to the detainees.
„This approach emphasizes the role of the Metropolitan See of Bessarabia and the Embassy of Romania in the backing of vulnerable people, in the spirit of the Christian and national values. The donation of books represents not only a gesture of solidarity, but also an invitation to reflection, introspection and spiritual revival, especially on this blessed period of the winter holidays,’’ reads a press release of the Metropolitan See of Bessarabia.
Father hiero-deacon Gurie Dumbrava conveyed a congratulatory and blessing message on behalf of Metropolitan Peter of Bessarabia. He thanked the staff of the Penitentiary No 9 – Pruncul for dedication and efforts in the mission of rehabilitating the convicted people.
Also, a minister advisor of Romania’s Embassy in Moldova, Marc Emilian Morar, highlighted the importance of the promotion of the Romanian culture and spirituality in the environment where they can bring spiritual good, happiness and hope. He also stressed that such initiatives strengthened the relations between the Romanian communities and institutions on the two banks of the Prut river and reaffirmed the care for all people at risk.
