27 beginner farmers ask subsidies in advance worth 15 million lei

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/- A number of 27 farmers junior applied for grants in advance from the state worth over 15 million lei. The applications were submitted in the 5th call for the receipt of the files, which was held on 2 September - 22 November.

Applicants for grants have planned to invest in the agricultural sector over 24 million lei, which will generate the creation of 70 new jobs.

According to the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), out of the total number of files submitted, most - 16 - aim to set up multi-annual plantations on an area of 97.5 ha, mainly planting lavender. In the zootechnical sector, nine applications for grants were registered. Eight of them are aimed at the beekeeping sector, where 1800 bee families will be procured with specialized honey production equipment. Also, two files concern investments in the construction of greenhouses for the production of vegetables and fruits on an area of about 2.5 ha.

59.3% of the files were submitted by women and 40.7% by young farmers.

The applications are to be examined by the central office of AIPA and submitted to the evaluation and selection commission of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.

This year, 45 million lei was allocated for subsidies in advance from the National Fund for the development of agriculture and rural environment, the value of which is 900 million lei (over 45 million euros).
