Moldovan team won two gold medals at 2024 FIRST Global Challenge

Chisinau, Sep 30 /MOLDPRES/- Young people from the Republic of Moldova have won two gold medals at the international robotics competition- 2024 FIRST Global Challenge, held in Athens, Greece.

Thus, the Moldovan team became the world champion in robotics, along with alliance colleagues from China, Madagascar and Cook Islands. At the same time, our country won the gold medal in the innovation in engineering category at the FIRST Global Challenge.

"Our young people again this year proved to the world that they are the best. I congratulate the national team representing the Republic of Moldova at the international robotics competition- 2024 FIRST Global Challenge in Athens, where our students won two gold medals.

I am proud of the results that our young people achieved, competing with participants from over 190 countries, and I am grateful to them for taking the country's fame all over the world. I thank all the teachers who have encouraged and mentored these talented students, as well as the parents who support them", Head of State Maia Sandu said.
