Moldovan electoral body takes note of financial reports of participants in referendum

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) have taken note of the information and data unveiled in the financial reports of the participants in the republican constitutional referendum due on 20 October 2024.
According to CEC, nine participants in the republican constitutional referendum informed the Commission about the opening of the account titled, Electoral Fund. Another four participants informed about the non-opening of this account: Political Party Coalition for Unity and Well-being, TOGETHER Electoral Bloc, Democracy at Home Political Party and WE Political Party.
In the context, CEC warned two participants at the referendum, the ACASA (OME) National Reunification Party and the PEOPLE’S WILL Political Party, to observe the provisions of the electoral legislation and submit on term the information on the opening or non-opening of the account, Electoral Fund.
The National Alternative Movement Political Party was warned by the electoral authority to use the money from the Electoral Fund account only after it informs the Commission about the financial means on this account.
At the same time, the Party of Communists from Moldova was warned to observe the provisions of the Electoral Code and use the financial means from the Electoral Fund account, only after the Commission is informed about them.
The elections for the office of Moldova’s president will be held in Moldova on 20 October 2024. On the same day, a republican constitutional referendum will take place, during which the citizens will have to answer the question: ‘’Do you support the Constitution’s amendment for Moldova’s accession to the European Union?’’
