Moldovan government improves water resource management process

Chisinau, Oct 16 /MOLDPRES/- The water resources management process will be improved. The government approved today the Methodology on identification of hydromorphologic changes, monitoring and evaluation of water bodies, the government's communication department has reported.

The draft provides for monitoring the evolution of rivers and lakes, assessing their ecological status and preventing their degradation.

The application of the methodology will strengthen the process of watershed management, strengthen the monitoring of water resources and provide the possibility of intervention to protect their natural and ecological status.

Human interventions will also be monitored in order to prevent possible negative phenomena on inhabitants and their property.
