Driving license application procedure to be simplified

Chisinau, Oct 16 /MOLDPRES/- Driving license application procedure will be simplified and adjusted to the needs of citizens. Government approved a decision to this effect today, the government's communication department has reported.

Under the draft, the admission to the exam will be possible by using the automated information system - Register of training units for drivers and trainers. It will also rule out the submission of study documents on paper, which will help digitize the whole process.

"In this way, we simplify the procedures, reduce corruption and increase the quality of the procedure for obtaining driving licenses," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

Another change concerns the simplification of the procedure for obtaining driving licenses for certain categories of vehicles.

At the same time, persons who have held a category B driving license for at least 24 months will be able to apply for the right to drive vehicles in subcategory A1 (motorcycles), provided they have completed a full course of practical training, without theoretical training and examination.

The draft will enter into force 30 days after its publication in the Official Journal.
