Ion Chicu: I contributed through my vote to important decision - future of our country

Chișinău, Oct 20 /MOLDPRES/- Former Prime Minister Ion Chicu, a candidate in the presidential election said he voted at today's polls for the development of our country. He urged all eligible voters to participate in the elections, "because it depends on us what will happen in Moldova the next four years".
"I feel happy that I have contributed through my vote to an important decision - the future of our country. I am glad that today we can all cast our vote, and I urge all citizens of the Republic of Moldova to come to the elections, to decide the fate of the country, because it depends on us what will happen in Moldova in the next four years. I voted for our state to remain and develop, to have independent media," he said.
Elections are being held on Sunday in Moldova for the position of head of state, along with a constitutional republican referendum on the country's accession to the European Union.
Voters are expected at 2,219 polling stations, of which 1,988 are open in Moldova, including 30 stations for residents from the left bank of the Dniester, and 231 polling stations are open abroad for diaspora citizens.
According to Central Electoral Commission's data, over 200,000 voters had come to vote by 10:00 a.m.
