Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - The candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Alexandr Stoianoglo, several hours after the announcement of the preliminary results of the elections, held a news conference, during which he thanked the citizens for support and made an urge of mobilization for the runoff election. Stoianoglo said that he would participate in the debates.
Stoianoglo noted that that ‘’the results of the vote prove that the overwhelming majority of the society knows well its interests and understands the importance of the national goals.’’
„In the context, I want to offer thanks to all those who actively participated in these elections: the voters at home, our numerous Diaspora, as well as the thousands of citizens from the Transnistrian region. From now on, we must find a common foundation for the consolidation of the entire society and all political and civil forces of Moldova. Most Moldovans clearly understand that our country needs justice, respect for all citizens, supremacy of law, economic development and jobs. And certainly, - a clear-cut direction for the sovereign development in the European family of nations. This must be the unifying agenda in the runoff of the presidential elections. And here I do not speak only about me. I rely much on the support of other formations, political leaders and opinion makers,’’ Stoianoglo said.
Alexandr Stoianoglo said that he would participate in the electoral debates. Yet, he demanded that this should be done on a neutral platform, with two moderators, one on behalf of PSRM and another on behalf of the Action and Solidarity Party.
According to the preliminary results announced by the Central Electoral Commission, the runoff of the presidential elections will take place in Moldova. Candidates Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo will fight on 3 November.
