Chisinau, Oct. 22 /MOLDPRES/- In the south of the country, where rainfall is lower, it is recommended to grow cereals, vines and vegetables, especially with irrigation. This is one of the conclusions of yesterday's meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) on how to choose the best crops for each region of the country, depending on the local climate and soil.

During the discussions, the scientists highlighted the importance of adapting modern agricultural technologies and fertilization methodologies to increase productivity and reduce the impact of climate change. Scientists believe that properly used fertilizers can strengthen plant drought resistance. "For example, in the south of the country, where rainfall is lower, it is recommended to cultivate cereals, vines and vegetables, especially with irrigation," according to MAIA.

Another key point raised in the debate was the use of demonstration plots. "These are essential so that both researchers and farmers can observe, in the field, how new agricultural methods and technologies work. In conclusion, the discussions emphasized the need to integrate science-based solutions," the source said.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, practices and technologies tested and demonstrated by scientists are necessary to secure the future of agriculture in relation to climate and economic challenges.

Over the year, the Ministry of Agriculture has intensified collaboration with academia in the sector. Scientists and researchers in agricultural sciences argue that in the current conditions the recommendations of experts can no longer be neglected. Organic fertilizers are very beneficial for the soil, helping to absorb moisture and stimulating beneficial bacteria. They contribute to healthier soil and therefore more vigorous plants.
