Moldovan electoral body starts printing ballot papers for run-off election for polling stations abroad

Chisinau, Oct. 24 /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has started printing ballots for the 3 November runoff election for polling stations abroad.
According to the CEC, 839,200 ballots will be printed, 768,850 in Romanian, 69,850 in Russian and 500 in Gagauz.
Most ballot papers will be printed for the Italian Republic - over 241,000 ballot papers, the Federal Republic of Germany - 135,000 ballot papers and the French Republic - 94,200 ballot papers.
The fewest ballots will be printed for Japan - 300 ballots, the People's Republic of China - 400 ballots and Latvia and the United Arab Emirates - 500 ballots each.
228 polling stations have been opened for this fall's elections abroad.
The runoff election will be held on November 3. The candidates who received the most votes in the first round will compete for the post of head of state. They are candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party Maia Sandu, who picked up 42.49% - 656,852 votes, and candidate of the Party of Socialists Alexandr Stoianoglo, who received 25.95% - 401,215 votes.
