Working group responsible for regional policy in EU acquis strengthens capacity with Polish experts' support

Chisinau, Oct. 25 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan working group responsible for regional policy and coordination of structural instruments took part in a workshop dedicated to the European Union's cohesion policy, in the context of preparing national authorities for the bilateral screening with the European Commission. The event aimed at supporting the work in the EU accession process and strengthening institutional capacities in the coordination of regional policy and structural instruments.
Ana Mardare, state secretary of regional development at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, who is also the chair of the working group, presented the actions planned for this chapter, included in the National Accession Plan, the themes of the upcoming country presentations and the strategic vision on cohesion policy.
The training was supported by a team of experts and professionals in the field from Poland, who presented to the working group an analysis of Poland's experience in the EU accession negotiations, with a focus on cohesion policy and structural instruments. More specifically, the legal and institutional system of cohesion policy in Poland, European territorial cooperation as an instrument of EU cohesion policy, as well as the audit system associated with cohesion policy and the role of managing authorities were presented.
Capacity building of the working group members will continue in November with a study visit to Poland to various institutions involved in the implementation of EU cohesion policy.
The event took place on October 22-23, in partnership with the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy of the Republic of Poland, under the project Support for the Moldovan public administration in the EU integration in the management of EU funds supported by Polish Aid.
