Chisinau, Oct. 27 /MOLDPRES/- First pictures of the arrival of the two candidates for president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo, at the Palace of the Republic, where the debate with the participation of the electoral contestants took place, were captured by MOLDPRES photojournalist.

After the debates Maia Sandu answered journalists' questions.

The electoral debate was the first confrontation between the two candidates aspiring to the head of state - Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo. It was conducted without a moderator, according to rules agreed by the election staffs of both sides.

Only representatives of the two presidential candidates were allowed to take photos.

MOLDPRES photojournalist photographed Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo on their way to the Palace of the Republic and also after the debates.

In the first round of the presidential elections, PAS candidate Maia Sandu won 42.49% of the votes. The current head of state received 656,852 votes. The PSRM candidate, Alexandr Stoianoglo, received 25.95%, 401,215 votes.

The run-off election will take place on 3 November.
