Representatives of 18 parties have consultations with Moldovan president

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of 18 political parties today participated in consultations with President Maia Sandu on measures of combating the political corruption, actions due to speed up the justice reform and the activity of the institutions in the field. The head of the Office of the Moldova’s president, Adrian Balutel, has made statements to this effect.
Balutel noted that parties with political representation at all levels from Moldova and are active in the political environment had been invited to the consultations, except for the parties which were involved in or benefited from the political corruption at the ballots from this year.
„Representatives of 18 parties out of 21 invited ones accepted the invitation. At the discussions, the president listened to the opinions of the representatives of the political parties about the fight with the political corruption and the purchasing of votes, as well as about the measures due to speed up the justice reform and the work of the institutions of the justice sector. There were quite constructive discussions and the proposals are to be considered,’’ Adrian Balutel said.
Maia Sandu on 11 November summoned Supreme Security Council to a meeting. The participants in the even discussed the issue of the political corruption and the needed to accelerate and optimize the measures of its combating. Following the event, the head of state asked to shorten the period of examination of the political corruption files; at the same time, the government and the parliament are to come with a concrete plan, in order to ensure the priority consideration of these causes.
Also, Maia Sandu informed that it would invite representatives of political parties, as well as representatives of other categories of the civil society to public consultations, in order to have discussions on the actions needed to be undertaken to combat the political corruption.
