Meteorologists forecast strong wind, rains, sleet, snow for days to come

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a Yellow Code of sharp change of weather till 23 November.   

According to meteorologists, the weather will sharply change, given the movement of atmospheric fronts related to an Atlantic cyclone, with influence from the Mediterranean Sea. ‘’Precipitation is forecast, heavy one in places (7-12 litres/square metre in 12 hours), initially in form of rain, which will gradually turn into sleet and snow, especially in the country’s northern and central regions. Glazed frost will appear on roads. The wind will have gustings to 15-18 metres/second. On 20 November, the average air temperature will sharply drop by 5-7 Celsius degrees,’’ SHS said.     

In case of Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous; the meteorological phenomena are usual for the country’s territory, but can temporarily become dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
