2024 state budget law amendments

Chisinau, Nov. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Cabinet of Ministers today approved the draft amendment to the 2024 state budget law. The main changes concern the redistribution of more resources for business development, expansion of forested areas, as well as road infrastructure rehabilitation, the government's communication department has reported.

Increases in allocations are planned for the program to support small and medium-sized enterprises - 100 million lei, as well as the national program for forest extension and rehabilitation - 60 million lei. 622 million lei have been earmarked for the project to support the road sector program.

It is also envisaged to earmark additional funds for employees of educational institutions on self-management - 42.4 million lei, as well as for employees of theatres, circus and concert organizations - 21.4 million lei.

"We need to make sure that more tax space, as a result of economic growth, goes into investments. So that in the future we can generate additional revenues to increase pensions, salaries, social allowances," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

The document sees an increase of state budget revenues by 1,180.1 million lei to 67,010.6 million lei. At the same time, the state budget expenditures will decrease by 493.4 million lei to 82,114.9 million lei. The deficit will fall by 1,673.5 million lei to 15,104.3 million lei.
