Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Gazprom giant has invited Energy Minister Victor Parlicov to discussions in Saint Petersburg. Victor Parlicov today made statements to this effect, noting that the subject was sensitive. Yet, he stressed that the authorities would do their utmost for the citizens to be supplied with gas.
„I received an invitation on behalf of Gazprom to come to discussions in Saint Petersburg earlier this week. Now, certainly, the subject is quite sensitive. We are to coordinate also with Mr. Prime Minister the visit and the positions,’’ the energy minister said.
Victor Parlicov gave assurances that the authorities would do their best to make sure that the flows of gas are stable. ‘’We will do our utmost, everything which is up to us, in order to make sure that the flows of gas are stable, the consumers are supplied and there is stability, including in the Transnistrian region,’’ the minister stressed.
The Energy Ministry prepared a winter plan with 44 measures, applicable for the supply with energy and gas during the cold season. The plan sees also two major scenarios, one of which is Gazprom’s refusal to deliver gas to the Transnistrian region via alternative routes following the expiration of the contract on transit through Ukraine on 1 January 2025.
