One prosecutor fails to pass evaluation of ethic, financial integrity in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - The commission for the evaluation of prosecutors has finished the evaluation of prosecutor Octavian Lazarev, candidate for the office of member of the College for the selection and evaluation of prosecutors, subordinated to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP). The commission unanimously ruled that Octavian Lazarev does not meet the criteria of the ethic and financial integrity and therefore, he fails to pass the evaluation.

The decision was submitted to the candidate and CSP – institution in charge of the contest’s organization.

Prosecutor Octavian Lazarev was heard on 17 October 2024.

In all, 32 candidates for the positions of members of the specialized Colleges subordinated to CSP were put forward to the Commission, for the evaluation of the ethic and financial integrity. So far, the Commission has adopted 18 decisions, 14 files are under evaluation and the last four candidates are to be heard in the next weeks.
