Chisinau, Nov 21 /MOLDPRES/- MPs received today a copy of the new edition of the Moldovan Constitution, printed by MOLDPRES.

The publication includes all amendments on the country's European integration, approved by the October 20, 2024 republican constitutional referendum, as well as those on the declaration of Romanian as the official state language.

The new edition of the Constitution was distributed to lawmakers ahead of the legislative session.

"I would like to thank MOLDPRES Agency for their gesture of giving us a copy of the new edition of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, which includes the latest amendments reconfirming the European identity of the people of the Republic of Moldova and the irreversibility of the European path, declaring integration into the European Union as a strategic goal of the Republic of Moldova. Also it included the amendment declaring Romanian as an official state language", Speaker Igor Grosu said.

"In the name of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and in the name of these values, we must continue on the European path chosen by all of us, be firm in this choice and stand together as a unitary and indivisible state," Grosu said.

MOLDPRES State News Agency has printed a new edition of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova has been published in Romanian and a bilingual edition - Romanian/Russian.

The Constitution amended by referendum was also published in the Official Journal last week. Integration into the European Union has thus become a strategic objective for the country.
