Moldova to continue to have access to financing for implementing programmes on combating HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament has ratified the Amendment, concluded by exchange of letters, to the framework agreement between Moldova and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. A draft law to this effect was approved at a plenary meeting today.
The document’s goal is to ensure the continuity of the national programmes for the HIV/AIDS, control and prevention of tuberculosis, providing access to non-refundable foreign financing.
Under the document, the implementation of the Amendment will have positive effects on the society through the improvement of the access to health services and enhancement of the quality of the medical assistance for the vulnerable groups hit by HIV/AIDS and TB. Thus, the financial support will be meant for treatment, taking care of patients, purchasing of modern diagnosis equipment, renovation of medical and social assistance institutions, buying medicines and laboratory tests, etc.
The Amendment, signed on 15 October 2024, implies updates of the Regulation on grants of the Global Fund and its adjusting to the recent edition concerning the international commercial contracts.
