Presidential elections in Romania // Voting continues for second consecutive day

Chisinau, Nov 23 /MOLDPRES/- Romanian citizens living in the Republic of Moldova can vote in the presidential elections in Romania for the second consecutive day. In this regard, 59 polling stations have been opened in the country. From the opening of the polling stations on Friday, November 22, at 12.00 noon until 10.00 a.m. today morning, 5,869 Romanian citizens voted in the Republic of Moldova.
According to the data of Romania's Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), by Saturday morning at 9.00 am, more than 43,000 voters turned up at the polls in the diaspora to vote in the first round of the presidential elections, Agerpres reports, quoted by Moldpres.
According to AEP, from the opening of the polls on Friday until Saturday morning at 9.00 am, 43,359 Romanian citizens in the diaspora went to the polls.
Most Romanian voters voted in the United Kingdom - 7,988, Republic of Moldova - 5,869, Germany - 5,509, Italy - 5,234, Spain - 4,987, France - 1,971, Belgium - 1,686, Netherlands - 1,640, Austria - 1,396.
Diaspora voting in the presidential elections takes place over three days, from Friday to Sunday.
In the first round of the presidential election, Romanians have a choice of 14 candidates, two of whom, receiving the highest number of votes, will contest the second round for the highest office in the country.
