Prime Minister announces salary increases for several categories of employees

Chisinau, Nov 23 /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean has announced that the salaries of several categories of employees will increase. Doctors, teachers, MAI employees and social workers will benefit from the increase.

"For next year, in 2025, we will make a new increase of about 9% in the salaries of doctors, teachers, employees in the MAI system, social workers and so on. In other words, the government is constantly making this effort to increase the incomes of our citizens," Recean said.

The Prime Minister also said that pensions of the elderly will be indexed.

The last increase in teachers' salaries was applied as of January 1, 2024, when they rose by 15%. Doctors' salaries were also increased at the end of last year.

On April 1, 2024, pensions and some social benefits were indexed by 6%.
