Chisinau, Nov. 26 /MOLDPRES/- Prosecutors suspended from their duties in connection with the start of criminal proceedings will be able to work in the public or private sector. The legal commission on rules and immunities will propose a draft law to the Parliament for consideration.
The draft amendment to the Law on Prosecutor's Office was set up by the Ministry of Justice after the Constitutional Court issued a ruling on suspension from the prosecutor's office in connection with the start of criminal prosecution.
Currently, the law stipulates that the position of prosecutor is incompatible with any other public or private office, as well as with other paid or unpaid activities, except for teaching, scientific work and activity in collegial bodies within public authorities or institutions.
It is also proposed that the legislative amendments should enter into force upon the publication in the Official Journal.
