Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - Ten families belonging to the Bulgarian ethnic group from Moldova have benefited from assistance in pellets for heating on the cold period of the year. The action is part of the programme, Българско единство чрез подкрепа, launched by the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova (ARBOM), which provides for the allocation of by 5,000 lei in each week for actions of social support of the ethnic Bulgarians from Moldova.
“The mayor of the Colibabovca village appealed to our Association to provide assistance to four families on the cold period. ARBOM ruled not to limit itself to beneficiaries from Colibabovca, but to provide help also to the residents of the Taraclia city, as well as from the Corten village,’’ the ARBOM director, Alexandr Borimecicov, said.
For instance, Melania Șeremetieva from the Colibabovca village, Leova district, is 78 years old and lives lonely.
„Nobody helps me! There is no one to help me, as each person is concerned only with his/her business,’’ the old woman said.
The woman’s children left abroad many years ago and she finds her way about in the household. It is difficult for her now, on the cold period, when she has to cut fire wood.
“It is really difficult for Mrs. Melania. She is cutting fire wood and carries it by herself. She is an industrious woman and the fact that you brought these pellets, it will be much easier to her to wind her way about with this type of fuel,’’ the head of the A Helping Hand Association, Association, Ana Savrieva, said. The Association is an organization which has the goal to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the ethnic Bulgarians from Moldova.
Both the families with many children and pensioners, as well as the people with special needs from the Taraclia city and the Corten village benefited from assistance for heating.
“Such assistance is welcome not only for lonely mothers with many children, but also for pensioners who live lonely. This is just a substantial assistance for them, in order to be able to successfully overcome the cold period. For this, we thank ARBOM for initiative and involvement,’’ the head of the Community Social Assistance Service of the Taraclia district, Ivana Cafidji, said.
Due to the Българско единство чрез подкрепа programme, launched by ARBOM, hundreds of low-income ethnic Bulgarians from Moldova benefited from social assistance, in order to enjoy a better living.
