Parliamentary elections in Romania // Moldovan PM says ballot democratic process through which democracy is ensured in Romania

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean urges the Moldovans holding the Romanian  citizenship to actively get involved in the democratic process in Romania, where the process of voting for the parliamentary elections started. The PM said that Romania was the most important development partner of on the democratic way.   

The prime minister emphasized the active involvement in the European Parliament elections and in the first round of the presidential polls in Romania. ‘’I thank the Moldovans with Romanian citizenship, who voted at the European Parliament elections, who voted in the first round of the presidential elections from Romania and I invite everybody to go to vote at the parliamentary elections held in this week-end; I want as many people as possible to go to vote, as this is the democratic process through which we ensure the democracy in Romania, which is an important partner; it is the most important partner of Moldova in the building of our European development way,’’ Dorin Recean said in a video clip posted on his Facebook account.     

Elections to the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies take place in Romania. The voting process started today outside Romania, where 950 polling stations were opened. In Moldova, the voting process today started at 07:00 and is held at 59 polling stations.  

The parliamentary elections from 2024 will establish the next composition of the parliament. As many as 332 members of the Chamber of Deputies and 137 senators will be elected. Over 6,330 people run for an office of deputy or senator on behalf of 31 parties and 19 organizations of national minorities. Eighteen formations and two independents run for positions in the new legislative body on behalf of the Diaspora.
