Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov has participated in European Union-Western Balkans Summit, organized by Friends of Europe in Brussels.
Attending the event were President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, the director general of DG NEAR, Gert Jan Koopman, President of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabić, as well as other high-ranking officials.
„The experience of the countries from the Western Balkans in the process of European integration is a good lesson for us,’’ Cristina Gherasimov said.
In the opening of the Summit, new European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos unveiled her vision on the EU’s enlargement. The official said that she would do her best, so that, during her mandate, Europe becomes more united and stronger, through the preparation of the candidate states for accession.
In her speech, Cristina Gherasimov stressed two important ideas, noting that: ‘’the transformations in the society and the firm maintenance of the European course represent the best response to the threats triggered by the hybrid war: and the EU’s enlargement is the key of stability and peace on the European continent.’’
