Members of agrarian parliamentary commissions from Moldova, Ukraine discuss in Chisinau discus ensuring agro-food security in region

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan parliament’s commission for agriculture and food industry and the Committee on agrarian and land policy of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament) held a joint meeting today. This is the first joint meeting of the two commissions host by Moldova’s parliament.    

The lawmakers discussed subjects on the perspectives of cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two countries; the taking over of new practices in this sector and facilitating the development of the bilateral trade with agricultural products; ensuring the agro-food security in the region.    

„Also, the commissions analyzed the achievements and priorities in the process of harmonization of the legislation in the agricultural sector of Moldova and Ukraine to the European Union’s legislation. It is worth mentioning that this is the first joint meeting of the two commissions, hosted by Moldova’s parliament,’’ according to the parliament’s press service.   

The delegation of the Committee on agrarian and land policy of the Ukrainian parliament met the members of the group of friendship between Moldova and Ukraine.
