Prosecutors, policemen make raids in north Moldova city in file on electoral corruption

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prosecutors and policemen from Edinet today made searchers in 18 settlements in a file opened on electoral corruption. Four persons were detained.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), in last October, more suspects, representatives of electoral contenders, while staying in different settlements of the Edinet district, delivered to voters sums worth from 1,000 to 3,000 lei, in order to prompt them to vote for a certain candidate at the presidential elections.

Six accused people have been earlier recognized and heard in this file; 13 searches were made, within which financial means, mobile phones, party member cards, lists and documents were found.

The PG reiterates that the criminal prosecution continues in this case.
