Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - The progress of Moldova in the integration process and the future priorities on the European agenda today were unveiled at the 15th meeting of the Moldova-European Union Association Parliamentary Commission (CPA), held in Brussels.

The chief negotiator for Moldova’s integration into EU, Cristina Gherasimov, had an online speech, during which she referred to the importance of the political support provided by the European partners.

„Moldova has good friends in the European parliament and the expertise and assistance provided from Brussels is valuable for us. Only together, we will manage to prepare the country for accession to EU,’’ Gherasimov said.

MPs Doina Gherman, Marina Morozova, Veronica Rosca, Petru Frunze, as well as the opposition lawmakers, Tatiana Cunetchi and Grigore Novac, participated in the meeting.

This is the first meeting of Moldova-EU CPA since the beginning of the tenth legislative period of the European Parliament. The event’s agenda included discussions on the present situation of the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union and the bilateral screening, underway. The participants in the event also discussed the security and the geopolitical situation in Moldova, as well as the constitutional referendum and the presidential elections, recently held in Moldova.

The Moldova-EU CPA represents the parliamentary forum of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. It is made up of members appointed by Moldova’s parliament and the European Parliament, who meet twice per year, alternatively, in Chisinau and Brussels.
