Moldova, North Macedonia sign memorandum on cooperation in European integration sector

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will cooperate with North Macedonia in the European integration sector. A Memorandum of cooperation between the two states was signed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Minister for European Affairs of North Macedonia Orhan Murtezani in Chisinau today.
The officials analyzed the stages covered this year by Moldova and North Macedonia – both states candidates for accession to EU. The sides considered the tasks on which they work at present and the priorities for the 2025 year. ‘’We can learn a lot from the experience of the states from the Western Balkans on our European integration way. Our future, as well as the one of the Western Balkans’ states is in the European Union,’’ Cristian Gherasimov said.
The participants in the meeting signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the European integration field, which will contribute to the consolidation of the relations between the two countries and the institutions coordinating the process of accession to EU.
North Macedonia is a state from Western Balkans with status of state candidate for accession to the European Union, with a population of less than 2 million people.
