Moldovan producers to be able to directly ask European Commission to include new names for textile fibres

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The government has approved new technical regulations concerning the names of textile fibres, labeling and fibrous composition. They allow Moldovan producers directly asking the European Commission to include new names for textile fibres, with technical and procedural details needed or in this way, Moldovan producers will be able to be more competitive on the European market.      

According to the Economic Development sand Digitalization Ministry (MDED), through this initiative, the national legislation aligns with the European standards and removes bureaucratic obstacles which slow down the development. The regulations imply the following benefits: easier access to the European market – Moldovan producers will be able to sell their goods on the biggest consumption market of the world; enhancement of the competitiveness – adaptation to the European standards will allow fabricating of innovating products, which will attract new clients and partners; cutting of commercial costs – through the harmonization of the legislation, the additional costs are eliminated and the process of products’ adjusting is facilitated and thus, resources are saved, which can be reinvested in business.    

„Moreover, through this project, the innovation and research is encouraged, backing the entrepreneurs to be more ambitious and explore new opportunities of development. The textile industry is a branch with huge potential in Moldova, as it already provides jobs to thousands of people and significantly contributes to the increase in exports,’’ MDED added.
