Regional workshops for mayors for EU integration held in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The My Community programme of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in December organizes a string of regional workshops for mayors of partner communities, focused on the European Union’s support in the local development of Moldova.  

„The process of accession to EU must be understood by everybody, starting from the local level, with the involvement of the communities in the transformation of their own settlements through the improvement of services, modernization of infrastructure and accessing of economic opportunities,’’ USAID said.  

Within the workshops, the mayors have possibility to discuss with experts from diverse sectors Romania’s experience in the implementation of projects financed with European funds; the opportunities of financing already available for Moldova within the cross-border and transnational cooperation projects, financed by EU; efficient strategies of communication on the process of accession to EU and European values; solutions to combat the anti-EU misinformation.

„Together, we contribute to the creation of a better living for the people of Moldova, providing opportunities of growth and development at home, in the own community,’’ USAID added.
