Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - A modern class for studying the Bulgarian language and literature has been inaugurated at the Tvardita lyceum from the homonymous town. This class is part of a bigger project financed by Bulgaria’s government and carried out by the Scientific Society of Bulgaristics from Moldova, with the support of the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova (ARBOM).
The initiative to create the best conditions for the studying of the Bulgarian language belongs to Ivan Duminica, the president of the Scientific Society of Bulgaristics from Moldova, who is also graduate of the Tvardita lyceum.
„Starting from last November, due to the financing by Bulgaria’s Embassy in Moldova and ARBOM, we have managed to open four classes of Bulgarian language in different settlements from the Taraclia district. Yet, the project does not end here – we plan to extend it also to other education institutions where the Bulgarian language is taught,’’ Duminica said. The researcher noted that the project’s budget was of 25,000 euros.
The headmaster of the education institution, Maria Smirnova, said that the new class had been renovated, endowed with furniture, teaching materials and maps had been purchased at the expense of the project. Also, a modern interactive table was set here.
„If an education institution has graduates who care about their institution and back its development, such projects can be carried out in each school. The president of the Scientific Society of Bulgaristics from Moldova, Ivan Duminica, is exactly such a graduate. Due to the financial support of Bulgaria, along with the organization which he leads, we managed to transform this project in reality,’’ the lyceum’s headmaster said.
The Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova also brought its contribution to the opening of model Bulgarian language and literature classes.
„For us, it is important to support the young people and encourage the quality education. For this reason, we got involved in the carrying out of the project of Mr. Duminica. Now, due to all those who have got involved, as well as of Bulgaria’s financial support, the children from schools where the subjects are taught in the Bulgarian language will have modern education materials and instruments,’’ ARBOM director Alexandr Borimecicov said.
The pupils from the Tvardita lyceum have already managed to appreciate the possibilities the new class is providing.
Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun, who came to the inauguration, said that the authorities put emphasis on the preservation and development of the languages of the ethnic minorities from Moldova and welcomed the involvement of foreign partners in this process.
„We are grateful for the assistance of our partners and we continue to work to create conditions for the preservation of the ethnic identity of the national minorities. In Gagauzia, Taraclia and in education institutions from other regions of the country, we support the learning of foreign languages and add additional classes,’’ Education Minister Dan Perciun also said.
Besides, due to the Bulgarian financing, as well as of the Moldovan authorities, the lyceum’s canteen was repaired as well. Da Perciun and Ambassador of Bulgaria to Moldova Maya Dobreva personally inspected all innovations at the lyceum.
„Now, I see that everything has come out well. I saw how it had been formerly and I did not expect for the result to be so impressive. I am quite happy that the project was carried out with so much responsibility and spirit. I thank my colleagues for the assistance provided to get the financing. We are looking forward to continue the cooperation with Tvardita,’’ Ambassador Maya Dobreva said.
A number of 340 pupils study at the Tvardita Theoretical Lyceum and the staff is made up of 30 teachers. The pupils from the lyceum study the Bulgarian language as of the first form till the 12th form.
