Moldova, biggest private business association of India sign memorandum of cooperation

Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova today signed a memorandum of cooperation with the biggest private business association of India –Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The document is aimed at consolidating the relations between the business environments from the two countries.  

The memorandum was signed at a business roundtable, Moldova-India, organized by CII. Attending the event was also Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi, on a working visit to India.    

At the event, Deputy PM Mihai Popsoi, along with the director of the Investments Agency, Natalia Bejan, unveiled the economic potential of Moldova, with emphasis on the business and investments opportunities provided by Moldova.

Moldova was promoted as a bridge to Europe; the officials stressed the advantages the country provided to the business environment, including the access to the European markets, strategic partners and the attractive fiscal conditions. Also, the Moldovan officials highlighted the legislative framework friendly to business, as well as the support provided by the state for projects in strategic sectors, such as the IT industry, agriculture, green energy and infrastructure, textiles and pharmaceutical products.  

In his speech, Minister Popsoi stressed that Moldova was a safe and competitive destination for business. ‘’The cooperation with partners from India opens new perspectives for the development of the commercial and investment relations. We invite Indian investors to explore opportunities Moldova provides, beginning with the agriculture and energy sectors up to the IT industry, infrastructure and pharmaceutics, in order to build sustainable and mutually advantageous partnerships,’’ Mihai Popsoi said.    

To consolidate the relations between the business environments from India and Moldova, the director of the Investments Agency, Natalia Bejan, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the biggest private business association from India - Confederation of Indian Industry.   

CII brings together over 9,000 members from the private, public and multinational sectors, as well as 365,000 indirect members.
