Moldovan president condemned attack at Christmas fair in Germany

Chisinau, Dec. 21 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu today condemned the attack at Christmas fair in Magdeburg, Germany.
"I am deeply saddened by the tragic event at the Christmas fair in Magdeburg, Germany. My thoughts are with the victims and families. What should have been a time of joy has turned into great sorrow. We strongly condemn violence in all its forms," the head of state wrote on Platform X.
On the evening of Friday, December 20, a car plowed into a crowd at a Christmas fair in the northern German city of Magdeburg. At least two people died and dozens were injured. The suspect is a doctor in his 50s who lives and works in Bernburg, a town south of Magdeburg. The man is originally from Saudi Arabia but has been in Germany since 2006 and has permanent residence.
