Russia again attacked Ukrainian energy system

Chisinau, Dec 25 /MOLDPRES/- Border Police announces that this Christmas morning, Russia again attacked the Ukrainian energy system using a whole arsenal of missiles and drones. So far, no disruptions have been reported in Moldova's power system, which is connected to the Ukrainian one.
According to reports, the Border Police informs that one of the missiles launched by Russia was spotted by a patrol on Iampol-Cosăuți direction. "Subsequently, one of the missiles would have crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova in Otaci-Moghilev Podilsk area and exited through the border with Romania in Dorohoi-Herța area," the source said. In this context, the authorities are further checking all the details.
Moldelectrica company informs the public that the electricity transmission and system system is operating in a stable regime. Disconnections caused by the attack on Ukraine have not been recorded. "In order to support the maintenance of operational stability and network efficiency, we are asking consumers to optimize the use of electricity during peak hours: 09:00 - 11:00; 17:00 - 19:00. Recommendations for rational consumption: Avoid simultaneous use of energy-intensive household appliances. Move high consumption activities to off-peak hours. Prioritize the use of energy efficient devices. The adoption of these measures contributes directly to reducing pressure on the grid and strengthening national energy security," Moldelectrica said.
