Moldovan MPs vote 2025 State Budget in third reading

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/ - The draft Law on the State Budget for 2025 was voted in the third reading today. For the next year, the state budget is scheduled to have revenues worth 71.55 billion lei and expenses amounting to 85.44 billion lei.
Under the draft, the minimum old age pension is planned to be increased to 3,300 lei for the people with a full length of service of 40 years as of 1 May 2025.
Starting from 1 April 2025, the pensions and other social benefits will be indexed by 6.1 per cent. Also, as of 1 January 2025, the salaries of the employees of the State Hydrometeorological Service will grow by 5 per cent and beginning with 1 May next year – by another 9 per cent.
Revenues worth 71.55 billion lei are envisaged for the next year, up by 6.8 per cent against the revenues specified for 2024. At the same time, expenses worth 85.44 billion lei are stipulated, which is by 4.1 per cent more against the sum specified for the year before.
According to estimations, the state budget for 2025 will result in a deficit of 13.89 billion lei, which accounts for 4.1 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product.
