Moldovan MPs vote draft law on compensation of expenses for transport, rent for magistrates, prosecutors

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/ - The magistrates and prosecutors who come to work from other settlements will benefit from additional social guarantees. The lawmakers adopted a draft law which provides for the compensation of the expenses for transport and rent.
The judges and prosecutors members of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) and Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP), including of their specialized bodies, will be able to benefit from these facilities as well.
Thus, the judges and prosecutors will be able to enjoy the compensation of the expenses for transport to work and back home or of renting dwelling space, if the settlement where they will accept to work will be at a distance of at least 20 km far from the settlement where they have their domicile. The provisions of the law will not apply to the prosecutors who work in the Chisinau municipality.
The conditions and methodology of calculation of the monthly compensation are to be regulated by cabinet decision. The payments will not exceed the figure of 4,500 lei.
According to information unveiled by CSM, CSP and the Prosecutor General’s Office, 189 people will benefit from these facilities.
