War veterans of Moldova to receive higher allocations as of 1 January 2025

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/ - The war veterans starting from 1 January 2025 will receive a monthly allocation of 10 per cent of the monthly average salary on the economy. Seventy three MPs voted a draft law on the war veterans.    

The draft law defines the status of the war veterans, presents their categories and, at the same time, stipulates the conditions on the withdrawal of the status of war veteran.

The document contains clear-cut regulations on the social protection, medical assistance and facilities from which the war veterans will benefit. As gratitude for sacrifice and devotion, the war veterans, starting from 1 January 2025, will receive monthly state allocation of 10 per cent from the forecast average monthly salary on the economy and the disabled people as a result of the war will receive an allocation of 14 per cent from the average monthly salary on the economy forecast. The war veterans which fit two or more categories will additionally benefit from an allocation by 4 per cent higher. The size of the monthly state allocation will be updated at each increase in monthly average salary on the economy forecast.         

The draft implies also the establishment of state allocations for special merits and stipulates their benefits. At same time, the draft sees the providing of the state allocation both to the members of the families of the war veterans who had died while fulfilling their duties, as well as to the members of the families of the disabled people because of the war who died.   

Also, the war veterans will be provided death benefit worth 50 per cent of the average salary on the economy forecast for the current year. Also, the war veterans will benefit from medical assistance and compensated medical devices and will be provided with orthopedic and dental prosthesis, hearing apparatus and heart implants.
