Post-investment grant applications up by 18%

Chisinau, Dec. 27 /MOLDPRES/- The Agency of Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) has received from October 21 to December 19, 2024 a total of 3,335 applications for subsidies worth about 2 billion lei, submitted by 2,533 single producers.

According to the data presented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the number of applications for post-investment subsidy increased by 18% compared to the previous year, reaching 3,131 applications from 2,398 farmers. The value of investments made by farmers is about 4.65 billion lei, an increase of 37% compared to the previous year.

"These increases reflect the ability and determination of farmers to invest in their own businesses, with the amounts being directed towards modernizing agricultural infrastructure and expanding production and processing capacities," MAIA said.

Among the main areas of intervention highlighted in the subsidy applications are: the development of production, processing or marketing infrastructure in the vegetable sector; investments in livestock farms, which support livestock production; the acquisition of modern technologies for tillage; the development of infrastructure in the wine sector.

Orhei, Anenii Noi and Hincesti are the districts in which most applications for subsidies for post-investment payments were submitted.
