Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba has made statements to this effect, after PM Dorin Recean today demanded the preparation of additional measures for backing the citizens and entrepreneurs, if the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) approve new tariffs for energy.

„We are always with entrepreneurs and now, on this difficult period, our support must be in so much important. Just as Prime Minister Dorin Recean said, on the next days, we will unveil a programme of compensations for maintaining the competitiveness of companies and reducing the risks of inflation’s increase,’’ Dumitru Alaiba said.

The deputy PM stressed that the authorities were already identifying the companies which are mostly in need of support, so that they are not burdened by exaggerated costs. In this respect, emphasis will be put, first of all, on the support of the companies which produce food products and essential goods for the residents.

„We value each entrepreneur from this country, being aware of their importance in the maintaining and development of the economy, even on difficult periods. During time, we went through numerous crises together and each of them taught us valuable lessons and strengthened our unity. We will succeed this time as well,’’ Dumitru Alaiba added.

PM Dorin Recean today asked to prepare additional measures for backing the citizens and the business environment, if ANRE approves new tariffs for energy. According to the official, the companies the competitiveness of which can be hit as a result of the increase in the tariffs for electric energy will be supported in two ways: partial compensation of the increase in these expenses for a limited period, between 3 and 6 months, in parallel with the subsidization of the investments in the energy efficiency.

Starting from 16 December, emergency state was established all over Moldova for a period of 60 days, given potential risks of insufficiency of energy resources.
