Parliament reduced electricity and heat consumption

Chisinau, Dec 31 /MOLDPRES/-Parliament today introduced measures to optimize and save electricity and heat consumption. Decorative lighting has been switched off and lighting inside the building has been reduced by 30%.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the measures were taken after the Commission for Emergency Situations issued a decision which implies this, being binding and enforceable.
At the same time, MPs and employees of the Parliament Secretariat were urged to avoid using elevators and to opt for staircases, and to disconnect electrical appliances and equipment that do not require permanent operation.
A 60-day state of emergency was declared in Moldova on December 12.
