Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - The road knot, including the passage on the public road M3 Chisinau-Giurgiulesti, nearby the Sagaidacul Nou village, southern Cimislia district, were opened for movement today, improving the conditions of traffic for all those who move to Comrat and Giurgiulesti, up to the border with Romania. Thus, 30 years after the ceasing of the works, the bridge is fully functional and provides the connectivity of the residents from the south with central Moldova.
Attending the opening of the movement on the new bridge, Deputy PM Vladimir Bolea said that the latter’s rehabilitation consolidated the road infrastructure in southern Moldova. The road knot ensures the access to the settlements Sagaidacul Nou, Satul Nou and Mihailovca, ‘’and this means significantly improved regional mobility and connectivity, ’’ Bolea also said.
„The finishing of this project represents the commitment of the State Administration of Roads (ASD) to modernize the road infrastructure and improve the conditions of safety and comfort for all participants in the traffic,’’ the ASD director general, Sergiu Bejan, said.
The bridge has a length of 42.15 metres and two spans of 21 metres each. The overall width of the passage is of 29 metres and includes four lanes, a median area and two sidewalks of 1.5 metres each.
The cost of the works is over 59 million lei. The money was allocated from Moldova’s Road Fund.
