Chisinau, Jan. 6 /MOLDPRES/- For the right bank of the Dniester, electricity consumption was fully covered in on 5-6 January 2025, without the need to activate breakdown contracts or unintentional flows. Sources used to ensure consumption include:
Termoelectrica - 32.35%
CET-Nord - 5,12
NHE Costești - 1,21 %.
Renewable energy - 11,83
Electricity import balance (MD/ RO) - 49,49%
The commercial capacity available for import from Romania through ENTSO-E network was sufficient to cover the forecast demand. An additional allocation of 364 MW contributed to enhancing energy security.
For the left bank of the Dniester river, MGRES (Cuciurgan power plant) adjusted its production by using alternative fuel (coal), with estimated reserves for 30-50 days. However, due to high consumption, the planned disconnections in the electricity fan continue in the region. These include the localities of Copanca and Varnitsa, with the interruption intervals set between 17:00-20:00 and 20:00-23:00, according to the schedule approved by the Transnistrian authorities.
The pressures in the transportation networks managed by Vestmoldtransgaz Ltd. are maintained within the functional parameters, ranging from 33.0 kg/cm² to 54.8 kg/cm². Natural gas reserves in this sector are sufficient and delivery flows are smooth.
The production units are operating according to schedule and so far there have been no reported breakdowns or disturbances in the system.
The authorities urge citizens to use electricity rationally, especially during peak hours. People affected by possible outages are also encouraged to contact local suppliers for quick solutions.
The government continues to monitor the situation in the energy systems, providing the public with up-to-date information.
