Energocom company of Moldova covers 100 per cent of needs of electric energy for 8 January

Chisinau, 7 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom stock company has covered 100 per cent of the needed quantity of electric energy for 8 January 2025.  

According to the quoted source, a consumption of electric energy comparable with 7 January is scheduled for 8 January.

„The Energocom stock company fully reserved the commercial capacity at the border with Romania, in order to cover the consumption needs. Thus, besides the local production at the heating stations from Chisinau and Balti, local sources of renewable energy, the rest of the electricity will be purchased from import and on exchange,’’ the enterprise said.  

Starting from 1 January this year, the right bank of Dniester has not been receiving electric energy from the Kuchurgan power station, after the Russian giant Gazprom ceased the deliveries of natural gas to Moldova.

In these conditions, the consumption is covered from domestic sources, such as the heating stations from Chisinau and Balti, Costesti-based hydro-electric power station, renewable energy sources, import under bilateral contracts from Romania and procurement from the electric energy exchange of Romania, managed by the OPCOM stock company.
