Energocom company of Moldova forecasts larger consumption for 10 January; needed volumes to be fully covered

Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom Company has informed that the needed quantity of electric energy would be fully covered on 10 January, when consumption larger by 2 per cent will be recorded against 9 January. The volumes will be provided both from domestic production sources and from import.
Thus, a consumption of electric energy by 2 per cent higher against today is scheduled on the right bank of Dniester for 10 January. At the same time, the needed quantity is smaller than on 3 January.
Energocom said that it had reserved the commercial capacity at the border with Romania, in order to cover 100 per cent of the needed consumption of electric energy.
More exactly, on 10 January, the consumers will be provided with electric energy produced by local heating stations, renewable energy installations and from import, based on bilateral contracts or on exchange.
Starting from 1 January this year, the right bank of Dniester has no longer been receiving electric energy from the Kuchurgan power station, after the Russian giant Gazprom ceased the deliveries of natural gas to Moldova. In these conditions, the consumption is covered from domestic sources and from import.
According to data by the government’s Crisis Cell, for 8 January, the consumption of electric energy for the right bank of Dniester was fully covered based on commercial contracts, from the following sources: Import of electric energy from Romania – 46.42 per cent; Termoelectrica stock company – 33.16 per cent; renewable energy – 15.03 per cent; CET-Nord – 4.83 per cent; state enterprise Costesti hydro-electric power station – 0.56 per cent.
