Deputy PM for European integration says Moldova relies on Poland's support for opening of negotiations with EU

Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Gherasimov has had a phone conversation with Minister for European Affairs of Poland Adam Szłapka. The discussion took place, given that, on 1 January 2025 Poland took over the presidency of the Council of the European Union for the next six months.
The deputy PM congratulated the Warsaw authorities on this mandate – the second one in Poland’s history. ‘’We discussed the agenda of the Polish presidency of the EU Council. We talked about the priorities on Moldova’s European agenda for the first half of this year. We have ambitious goals, in order to advance in the process of negotiations and we rely on Poland’s support, in order to open the negotiations for a group of chapters,’’ Gherasimov said.
The official thanked the Polish authorities for the support for Moldova’s European integration way and for the solidarity proved by Poland to overcome the energy crisis faced by the country.
